Tim Robbins Interview – Castle Rock Season 2 – NYCC 2019 Exclusive

Hear what Mr. Robbins has to say about stepping back into the universe of Stephen King. The academy award winning actor played the lead in The Shawshank Redemption. Shawshank is one of King’s best literary works and widely considered one of the best movies of all time.

Mr. Robbins is incredibly charismatic. He was incredibly polite and seemed genuinely happy to talk about his upcoming project. He even delves a bit into his background and upbringing and how that influenced his role as Reginald ‘Pop’ Merrill of the titular town of Castle Rock.

Traditionally Pop was something of a loan-shark, preying on the needy citizens of King’s fictitious town. In Castle Rock Season 2 he is the ‘don’ of Castle Rock. Something of a Maine mafioso. I get the feeling he may be the big fish in the small pond. His character is dying of cancer and his adopted children start a feud that could engulf Castle Rock as well as the neighboring Salem’s Lot.

We’d like to thank Hulu for the opportunity to sit down with the stars of the series and dive deeper into the incredible world they are expanding on exclusively on their network.

We’ll be releasing more interviews with the on, and off, screen talent of this amazing series all week!

Castle Rock Season 2 debuts October 23 exclusively on Hulu

A psychological-horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse, Castle Rock combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland. The fictional Maine town of Castle Rock has figured prominently in King’s literary career: Cujo, The Dark Half, IT and Needful Things, as well as novella The Body and numerous short stories (Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption) are set in there. Castle Rock is an original suspense/thriller — a first-of-its-kind reimagining that unites King’s themes and worlds and brings together the author’s most iconic and beloved characters.

In Season 2, a feud between warring clans comes to a boil when budding psychopath Annie Wilkes, Stephen King’s nurse from hell, gets waylaid in Castle Rock.
