TOP FIVE AWESOMEST STAR WARS MOMENTS ON TV
It’s Friday! Time to countdown in the world of nerd with The Friday Five! This week, we continue down the road to The Force Awakens with the top five awesomest Star Wars moments on TV !
Everyone loves Star Wars! Lots of times, different TV shows or channels would want a piece of the Star Wars action. Sometimes these were so bad they were good, sometimes they were bad, sometimes they were amazing, but they were always memorable! Let’s count them down, shall we?
5) The Ewoks: Caravan of Courage
The Ewoks! The Jar Jar of their time, many people hated them. A lot of people loved them. Thankfully after the release of Return of the Jedi, ABC stepped in with a made for TV movie set between Episode 5 and 6 and starring the Ewoks! Uh. Yeah. In a world without internet this was a mind blowing event for a young nerd. Star Wars was back! Unfortunately, it’s not very good. Sadly, it’s not so bad it’s funny either. If you ever wanted to see Ewoks save random kids from a bad sfx monster, Caravan of Courage is here for you.

4) Star Wars on the Muppet Show
The real Muppet Show, unlike the trash currently on TV, was a great family show with guest stars straight from the cutting edge of pop culture. What better crossover than with the stars of Star Wars? Mark Hamil as himself AND Luke Skywalker, R2D2, a dancing C3po and Chewie. As a kid without access to any live action Star Wars outside of the three movies this was fantastic. Gonzo as Darth Vader is hilarious. Check it out and then feel sadness when seeing what the Muppets have become in the year 2015.
3) The Star Wars Holiday Special
The great granddaddy of all Star Wars TV appearances, this special aired only once and was so bad that George Lucas pretended it never existed and wished all copies destroyed. Following the story of Chewbaccas family celebrating the holiday “Life Day”, it’s a classic of terrible. Bea Arthur dancing around the cantina? Princess Leia singing? A clearly embarrassed Harrison Ford? This special has it all.

2) Star Wars on the Donny and Marie Show.
Redd Fox as Obi Wan. Nuff said.
1) Triumph the Insult Comic Dog visits the line for Episode 2.
This is it, the greatest Star Wars TV moment ever. Absolutely hilarious even 13 years later. Triumph laying waste to the people in line for Attack of the Clones is easily the most quotable Star Wars TV moment. That dudes Darth Vader impersonation. The wedding. BLACKWULF THE DRAGON MASTER. I doubt in my lifetime anything will be as amazing and funny as this.
That will wrap us up for this week’s countdown! As always feedback is welcome in the comments below, on social media or at sowizardpodcast@yahoo.com!
