Home
Presented in bright colors and silly sound effects, this is a movie completely designed to appeal to the very youngest members of the family. With past animated movies in the DreamWorks library, they’ve managed to make stories that appeal to kids as well as adults (the Shrek series comes to mind), but “Home” is made specifically for the youngsters. There doesn’t seem to be much of a story until the third act rolls along, and by that time, the characters finally start to be relatability and you share in their happiness and sadness.
I had a few doubts of Rihanna being the voice of a 12 year old, but it works. Jim Parsons sounds like Sheldon Cooper, and it fits.
Very little kids will like it, adults will tolerate it and laugh along, probably think of better animated film.
